My public speaking expertise is the direct result of both triumph and failure. I earned stellar reviews while on the speaking circuit for several years, with audiences ranging from 25 to 2,000 people. I also had a few, well, we’ll call them hiccups, and the worst one was an interview I did for a well-known newspaper in which I assumed the reporter would edit out all the word fillers. Oops. The good news is, I now speak without ums and ahs, so I guess it wasn’t all bad.

In addition to my work with SpeakWell Partners, I teach leadership communication at the Wharton School, and run a women’s leadership development program in collaboration with the University of Delaware. I earned a Master of Science in Psychology from Northeastern University while simultaneously earning my membership into Red Sox Nation. I am certified through Corporate Coach University’s Coaching Clinic, and Right Management’s Executive Coaching Program.

Fun Fact:  I’ve lived a secret life as a fitness instructor. At first it was a way to manage my weight without having to give up French Fries. As the years went by, I realized it was a great way to manage stress. My favorite was a kick-boxing class where we hit the heavy bags and then transitioned into yoga-lates. After that class, I floated home. Now I incorporate several physical activities into our Speaker Bootcamp. I also offer special programs that blend mindfulness, goal-setting and movement.  If you’re interested in hosting one, just drop me an email at barbara@speakwellpartners.com.
